Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) of Hong Kong has issued circulars to regulate digital asset tokenization, emphasizing that tokenized securities are essentially traditional securities with a tokenization layer.
These regulations require intermediaries participating in tokenized securities activities to adhere to existing legal and regulatory requirements governing traditional securities markets.
Additionally, offerings of tokenized securities must comply with the Companies Ordinance’s Prospectus Regime and the Securities and Futures Ordinance on offers of investment. 💸
